The path is short: pick a file, upload, done — the link lands in your clipboard immediately, ready to hand over. Select several files at once and upload them together instead of pushing each one through separately.

If the server isn’t reachable right now, the upload goes into the offline queue. As soon as you’re back online it’s sent automatically — nothing to remember, nothing to repeat.

And if something does go wrong, you see the status right there in the queue instead of being left guessing.

picaroa hooks into the iOS share sheet. From Photos, Files, Safari or any other app you send content straight to your server without opening the app first.

That’s what makes the difference day to day: take a screenshot, tap share, pick picaroa — the link exists before you’ve finished wondering where else you’d have put the file.

Images are prepared sensibly before upload so that larger shots go through reliably.

Bundle several files into a single ZIP archive so they become one download link instead of a list. Protect the archive with a password if you want to.

Any share link can be displayed as a QR code. It’s the quickest way to hand something from one device to another: show the code, scan it, done — no typing the link, no messenger in between.

All shared files live in one list you can search and sort by name, date, size or file type. With plenty of uploads behind you, that’s how you still find things weeks later.

Every link carries an expiry date and a note, so you know what you gave to whom. Once the lifetime has passed the server stops serving the file — the cleanup takes care of itself.

If your PicoShare server provides the information, you also see how often a file has been downloaded.

Guest links reverse the direction: others upload files to you without needing an account or knowing anything about your server. One link is enough.

You decide how long the link stays valid and how long the files uploaded through it should live. Existing guest links can be managed, tested and edited right in the app.

For the other side it stays deliberately simple: a lean upload screen, nothing more.

picaroa connects exclusively to the PicoShare instance you enter yourself. There’s no intermediary service, no user account and no registration — your files never take a detour through someone else’s cloud.

Optionally, picaroa strips EXIF data from images before uploading. That keeps GPS coordinates, camera model and capture time off the wire — when sharing photos, a difference that’s otherwise easy to overlook.
